Samantha Sutherland

Artistic Director

Samantha trained as an actor-musician at Rose Bruford drama school. She set up Door Ajar Theatre in 2015 after realising that a lot of the people she knew were really quite brillliant. She likes putting them into a room together and letting them loose.

Samantha writes for Door Ajar, Thisbe being her first play and Around The World On Christmas Day her second.

Samantha has always enjoyed stories that lift the spirits with magic and adventure but also the ones that question the complexities of what is to be human, grappling with life.
